Road closure alert: Benson Poole Road will be closed to thru traffic between Windy Hill Road and Smyrna Powder Springs Road beginning Monday, March 15th, 2010 through Wednesday, April 28th, 2010. The actual points of closure are at Smyrna-Powder Springs Road and Timberly Drive. Closure is necessary due to the realignment of Benson Poole Road with Smyrna-Powder Springs Road.

Congratulations to Brown Elementary School for winning the GaDOE State Superintendent Distinguished Achievement Awards for improvement on the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT). Recycle? Want to know more? The City of Smyrna encourages you to visit the Recycling Center and learn more. Electronics recycling is now available at the Recycling Center.
Curbside Recycling is a community effort that makes a difference, too...reduce, reuse and recycle. Join the Smyrna curbside program - call the Public Works Department at 770-431-2850 to have a recycling bin delivered to your house.
Recycling Center - New Hours - Beginning January 1, 2010, the Recycling Center will be closed on Sundays and Mondays. The Center will be open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and Thursday from Noon until 8:00 p.m. (Please note that while freezing temps persist, it would be best to call the Recycling Center at 770-431-2863 before visiting. The Center may be closed when other City facilities are not because of icing of entrance/exit areas._
