  • Holiday Closing - City of Smyrna Administrative offices will be closed on Friday, July 3 in observance of the July 4 holiday.  Although the Sanitation Division will be working on July 3rd (meaning that the regular weekday schedule will be followed), please consult your Sanitation Schedule/Holiday Schedule for important information about collection during other holiday weeks.

NEW!   Smyrna Fresh Produce Market - Saturday mornings through Sept. 19th. Locavore or Localvore?  Here's a great market in your backyard!  Market opens at 8:00 a.m. (until Noon) in the parking lot between Smyrna First Baptist and the Market Village (1275 Church Street SE Smyrna, GA 30080-3595 ). To participate as a vendor, contact Keep Smyrna Beautiful at 770-431-2863.  The good stuff goes early and it's ALL good! Bring your own bags...we supply the smiles.  (The Market will be closed on July 4 in observance of Independence Day.)

  • More Hot Summer Music - July 11  - Join us on the Village Green for a concert with Magno (you got to meet them last year for the first time and they rocked your world...we brought them back for the same reason) - beginning at 7:00 p.m. and ending at 10:00 p.m.

Water use - restrictions eased - on June 15, 2009 the City of Smyrna officially adopted the State of Georgia water use guidelines set by the Envioronmental Protection Division (EPD).  Follow the link

  • Concord Road closure – Cobb County is closing Concord Road to thru traffic between Hurt Road and South Hurt Road through June 24, 2009. The actual point of closure is on Concord Road approximately 1400 feet south of Adderbury Lane and approximately 1200 feet north of Covered Bridge Road where Concord Road crosses Silver Comet Trail. Closure is necessary due to replacement of the bridge over Silver Comet Trail.
  • Agencies in Cobb County are monitoring recent flu (2009 H1N1 Flu) developments - for info and simple ways to avoid the flu, go to http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/. Follow simple rules to stay healthy.  You may also obtain information from the Cobb & Douglas Public Health Department website http://www.cobbanddouglaspublichealth.org/index.php

  • Branching!   The City of Smyrna is once again designated as a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation.  This is the sixth year that the City of Smyrna has received this national recognition.  For more information, visit the Urban Forestry  page of this website.

 Recycle?  Want to know more?  The City of Smyrna encourages you to visit the Recycling Center and learn more.  Electronics recycling is now available at the Recycling Center. 

Curbside Recycling is a community effort that makes a difference, too...reduce, reuse and recycle.  Join the Smyrna curbside program - call the Public Works Department at 770-431-2850 to have a recycling bin delivered to your house.
